A little history: I am one of those rare birds who is actually pretty responsible with their money. I don’t have mountains of debt that I can’t get out of, I never took out student loans and I never fall for the “but you’ll save 10% if you get our credit card today” ploy that so many retail stores want to trick me with. But I am admittedly a little greedy and at times a little lazy, so the idea of “free money” is really appealing to me. So I guess I’m a little bit of a sucker too. Because I fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Sure, Trudeau’s free money book has sound financial advice but it is stuff that I already know. Most of it is common sense so if you are in need of a guide to Finance 101, this book might be good for you. But I was hoping I was going to get some massive insight on where to find free money. But, as they say, nothing in this life is free. Sure, there are a lot resources on where to find free money…but you still have to work to get it! Even if you find out that you have money that the government has been holding in their “missing money” files you still have to fill out a bunch of forms to get it. But, really, who am I kidding? I will probably fill out the forms. Because in the end it is free money in some ways. I guess it just won’t come as easily as winning the lottery. Overall, I would definitely recommend the book to some of my friends that need to have a better understanding of their finances. It is a good resource that puts a lot of info in one place. Just having it all in one place can be helpful. It also doesn’t talk “over” or “at” it’s reader. It is very easy to follow along and comprehend, even if you are a finance novice. If you’re looking for a basic, simple, and helpful finance book, then this could work for you. If you are looking for a quick way to make some cash…well, this book is still helpful. But it isn’t your free ticket to the easy life.

Getting a great education is a true investment in your future. No matter what you plan to study, having a degree from a reputable university is a surefire way to increase your earning power and broaden the scope of employment opportunities available to you. College is also a personally gratifying experience that can open your eyes and expand your mind in ways you’ve never though possible. Unfortunately, college can also be extremely expensive, particularly if your family is not especially wealthy and you have no special college savings account to put towards your tuition, books, housing and other educational expenses. Financial guides like the Free Money book by Kevin Trudeau claim to offer readers strategies for obtaining “free money” for college, but skeptics claim that the concept of free money is nothing more than a myth. So what’s the truth when it comes to finding free money to finance your college education?

If you’re in need of extra cash for college, you’re in luck – you really can get free money that never has to be paid back, and you don’t have to be an academic superstar to qualify. In fact, merit-based scholarships make up less than two percent of the financial aid extended to college students, while grants – which are largely need-based – make up around 40%, with loans accounting for the remainder. There are four main types of grants to be aware of when you’re filling out your FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid:

Federal Pell Grants. These need-based grants can provide students with up to several thousand dollars in free money that never has to be paid back! You may even be eligible for additional aid depending on your major, with particular priority given to math, science and social studies students.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants. These grants are similarly need-based, but are extended to only the most financially disadvantaged students. They can range from several hundred to $4,000 of additional free money for your education.

State grants. To find out if you’re eligible for state grants, you may need to fill out a state-approved form separate from the FAFSA. These grants may be need-based, or they could be given to certain students in order encourage a specific area of study. For example, California will cover the student loan costs of individuals who plan to teach in low-income areas after graduation.

Institutional grants. This is free money that comes directly from the college or university itself, and the grants are usually aimed at students in need, or those who are particularly desirable in terms of GPA, accomplishments, athletic ability and more. Usually, you can’t apply directly for institutional grants; however, you can increase your chances for an offer by focusing on schools that are less competitive and that may have a real need for your talents.

The secret to qualifying for this free money is to fill out your FAFSA and other related financial aid forms as soon as possible, since most grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis – and in most cases, once the money runs out, you’ll be out of luck until the next school year. For more information on where to find free money for college, consult Kevin Trudeau Free Money.

On your quest to find “free money,” you’re likely to run into many scams – people trying to take advantage of you or cheat you out of your hard-earned cash. The very concept of free money sounds far too good to be true, doesn’t it? In reality, however, free money exists – and it’s quite simply money that doesn’t require repayment. Essentially, anything that is not a loan and does not require a large investment of time or cash on your parts can be termed “free money.” But once you know that it’s out there, you may find that actually locating potential sources of free money can be extremely challenging. That’s why many people turn to informative books like Kevin Trudeau’s Free Money “They” Don’t Want You to Know About for help.

Some people claim that Kevin Trudeau’s Free Money book is a scam – a trick designed to squeeze money out of hardworking people looking for a solution to their financial woes. And it’s true that, with shipping and processing fees taken into account, ordering a brand new copy of Free Money by Kevin Trudeau from the book’s official website will set you back at least $30, which is pricey (although not unheard of) for a brand new hardcover book. But is Free Money truly a scam, or is Kevin Trudeau the anti-corporate crusader he claims to be?

The answer lies somewhere in between these two extremes. While Trudeau has been the subject of several lawsuits and criminal allegations, millions of readers can attest to the fact that Free Money does include a wealth of potentially useful information. For example, Trudeau describes the process of applying for government grants in detail, without using sophisticated financial terminology. While this might not be an “exclusive scoop,” it can also prove helpful for those with minimal understanding of such processes. Similarly, Free Money discusses the concept of unclaimed cash and property – not earth-shattering news for financial wizards, but information that may come as a pleasant surprise to people who are less educated in such manners.

Basically, Kevin Trudeau’s Free Money book should be taken for what it is: An introductory tome that can provide concrete tips and lay a foundation of knowledge for beginners. It should not, however, be viewed as a cure-all or something that will magically change your life (or your finances) overnight. If you’re curious about Free Money, your best bet is probably to grab a copy and read it for yourself.

There are many people around the country who would love to own their own home. Not to “flip,” not to sell in a few years for a profit and not for a secondary residence. They simply want to own their own piece of property in the city they love so that they can put down roots, raise a family and maybe even pass the home down to future generations. Unfortunately, in areas where real estate is always in demand, prices have not fallen much. In Seattle, for example, it is difficult to find a one-bedroom home for under $350,000. When you are one of the nearly 80% of the population in that area that makes around $40,000 a year, owning a home can seem like a pipe dream. How are you supposed to qualify for a loan, let alone have a mortgage that is affordable, when real estate is at such a premium? Do you have to leave the city and look to surrounding towns to find a home that is affordable? Why should you have to compromise your hopes and dreams for a place to call your own?

Luckily, there are programs in place that can help you make your dreams of owning a home, in the location you want, come true. One of the programs that you may not know about are Community Land Trusts (CLTs). There are certain qualifying factors that you have to reach but if you do meet them, the ability to own a home is a much more reasonable. Essentially a CLT eliminates the cost of the land from the price of the home. The qualifying buyer owns the house but the CLT owns the land. The land is then leased for a nominal fee to the homeowner. The homeowner agrees to live in the home as a permanent residence. So, for example, if a single-family home is being sold for $300,000 and the land is worth $150,000, then the buyer is only purchasing the remaining $150,000 of the cost. And if a few years down the line the owner wants to sell, they agree upfront that they would only sell the home for what is worth and the CLT would sell the land, most likely to another qualifying first-time home buyer. For someone who is planning on staying in their home long-term, the ability to afford a home in the area they want is possible with the aid of a CLT.

Community Land Trusts are forming in major cities across the country, such as Los Angeles and New York City. Even more typically “resort” towns like Key West and Jackson Hole are seeing CLTs forming. The idea behind the CLTs is that they foster a feeling of community which then translates to positive effects, such as lower crime rates and more well-maintained streets and aesthetics. If you are a first time home buyer with a moderate income, you may be able to afford to be a homeowner by working with a CLT. This might be your best bet at “free money” toward a home today.

We have all been there: It’s the end of the month and you are going over your finances when you realize there is a chunk of money missing from your budget. You have no idea where it went. You know it wasn’t stolen or misplaced. You definitely spent it…but on what? Where did it go? It can be a scary feeling and sometimes it can be downright depressing. How can you be spending your hard earned money and still have nothing to show for it? Don’t get too down in the dumps about it though because you are definitely not alone. According to a study by Visa, nearly half of all Americans lose about $2500 in cash every year. That is a lot of money to just go missing! In fact, it is about $200 a month that could have been used towards bills or put into savings. If you want to turn around your spending habits in this new decade, then tracking your money can be one of the easiest ways to get “free money” every month.

Where does it go?

There are a lot of ways money can just go missing from our bank accounts. Most of us try to keep a bit of cash on hand for small purchases and emergency resources. That means that cup of coffee and that pack of gum are covered but these are just the kind of purchases that add up quickly – as quickly as they are forgotten about. Further, if that cup of coffee cost you $3.05, that means that you now have a handful of change that you may or may not use on your next purchase. You may use the quarters on parking meters and toss the rest into a tip bucket. Often we don’t think of the change as part of our purchase. See how quickly your money is evaporating? With each of these kinds of money uses, we “lose” our money.

Here’s the plan…

There are a few easy ways to track your money so that you can decide how to best manage your accounts for the rest of the year. Use this month to assess where the money is going.

1) Debit Cards

You can decide to go cash free for the month. This way you will have a full report at the end of your billing cycle on exactly where all your small and large purchases went. You can then look at your expenses and it will be itemized and totaled without any extra effort by you.

2) Take Notes

If going without cash isn’t possible, then put all your cash within an envelope that you can then write on as soon as you make each purchase. When you buy your coffee, pencil in the date and the amount right on the envelope. You can also choose to use a small notepad for the same sort of tracking technique.

Now you know where it goes…

So make your priorities happen! How much did all of your mindless, small purchase add up to? Decide if that cup of coffee is worth it or if you would rather start saving for a rainy day. Once you prioritize your spending habits you will see that you have free money at the end of the month to do with as you please.

It’s no secret that the economy is in terrible shape right now, and I think it’s pretty safe to say that we’re all feeling the pinch – even those of us who have jobs that used to seem fairly secure. Everyone I know is struggling with debt or simply trying to make ends meet every month, and several friends and former coworkers have been laid off and find themselves in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure. The concept of finding “free money” sounds more appealing than ever before, so when I saw Kevin Trudeau’s infomercial for his book Free Money “They” Don’t Want You to Know About, I was immediately intrigued. The book claims to have information for finding and claiming free money (i.e., money that doesn’t need to be repaid like loans do) quickly and easily. Apparently the government and other private funding institutions have billions of dollars that they’re just waiting to hand out to people, and you can use it for anything from paying down your mortgage to paying off credit cards. Sounds too good to be true, right?

I was a little wary that the Free Money book might turn out to be a scam, but I went ahead and grabbed a copy for myself anyway. In my opinion, this book actually has many useful tips. It’s true that none of this information is exactly exclusive, but if you’re a financial novice you might be able to benefit from Trudeau’s uncomplicated writing style, which puts everything in extremely accessible terms. If you’ve ever considered applying for a government grant but you have no idea where to begin, Free Money can definitely help you out there. There is also a lot of good information about scholarships, which is great for college students who don’t have the cash to pay their tuition and school expenses in full but are hesitant to take out hefty student loans.

All in all, this book may not change your life or anything, but it could be an excellent starting point if you’re looking to rehab your finances. The services of a professional financial advisor would probably be preferable to buying a copy of Free Money by Kevin Trudeau, but the book does offer an easy and relatively affordable way to take some initiative towards regaining control of your economic future.

In these troubled economic times, everyone is searching for additional ways to increase their income. This is true of people who still hold a job and of people who are in between jobs. The idea that there are opportunities out there to procure free money is a very enticing one that is healthily met with a mixture of hope and of skepticism. The adage that nothing in life is free is one to keep in mind if you decide to get Kevin Trudeau’s Free Money book. While the book does include helpful tips of where to begin your search for free money, it will take work on your part to actually procure these free monies. And, of course, you have to pay for the Free Money book to find out where to get the free money. That is a bit ironic. Overall, the places to find free money seem like common sense solutions but it is nice to have all the information in one place to refer to. Beyond just free money tips, like claiming what is yours – like matured bonds and unclaimed assets – there are also helpful tips on how to change your mortgage payments so you can have more money each month. It is helpful to learn that your bills and payment plans, from your mortgage to your medical bills, can be negotiated in order to ease your financial burden each month. The Free Money book also lists resources on different government agencies that you can contact in order to see if there are free money opportunities for you. If you are looking for a book that helps you to streamline your finances and develop a plan for getting additional funds to bolster your current income, or lack thereof, this book can be helpful. Again though, it is not a lifesaver and should only be viewed as a tool that may or may not work for your needs. Everyone’s finances are unique but there are general tips that can help most in Kevin Trudeau’s Free Money book.

No matter which industry you plan to work in, education is of the utmost importance – and the best way to ensure that you’re receiving a great education is to attend a reputable college or university. Unfortunately, college is more expensive than ever before – and in these tough economic times, it can be extremely difficult for many students to meet their regular school expenses, including tuition, textbooks, and room and board. Before you consider postponing your education or taking out loans that you could be paying off for years after graduation, why not consider applying for scholarships instead? Unlike student loans, scholarships do not need to be repaid – all you have to do is go about your educational pursuits as usual and your expenses will be covered! Funding organizations both private and government-affiliated offer billions of dollars in scholarship money to students every single year – and it is said that tens of millions of those dollars go unclaimed, simply because most students are unaware of the wealth of free money opportunities available to them! Don’t make the mistake of putting yourself in debt to pay for school when you could qualify for a sizable scholarship instead.

The first step in the scholarship process is, of course, looking for the scholarships themselves – and determining which ones you’re most qualified to win. Keep in mind that you may qualify even if you are not a straight A student; there are also scholarships geared towards members of specific ethnic groups, students looking to specialize in a particular area of study, people with disabilities, and so forth. Even if you think that there couldn’t possibly be a scholarship for you, it’s still worth a look! Searching online is a great way to start, but make sure you use a reputable source to avoid falling victim to a scam. You should never have to pay for a scholarship search; instead, use the free services of legitimate websites like FastWeb.com, the College Board or Peterson’s. In addition to conducting an online search, you should also look for local opportunities within your community. Many private organizations offer money to students – simply ask your guidance counselor for help. Another option is to enquire about scholarship opportunities that are specific to your university, such as those offered by alumni groups.

Once you find a few scholarships that work for you, the next step is to apply for them. Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through when lobbying for a scholarship! Frequently, it’s a student’s special quirks or idiosyncrasies that make an organization want to reward them with free money for school – particularly if those special qualities have helped you solve problems or overcome obstacles in the past. Also, make sure you fill out your application in full. If you leave out any information or fail to follow the format precisely, you may be disqualified. Have someone close to you with a good eye for detail look over your application and proofread it before you turn it in.

In the end, finding and applying for scholarships doesn’t have to be an ordeal. If you need additional help, you may want to consult a book like “Free Money” by Kevin Trudeau, which has helped many students find and secure scholarship money for their educational costs. Above all, don’t give up – if you’re serious about pursuing your studies, there’s sure to be a scholarship out there with your name on it.

It’s always been my dream to become a nurse. However, given the cost of nursing school, I never thought I would be able to afford it. Then a friend told me that there is a way that I could find free money for nursing school! Of course, I wasn’t immediately convinced, but she assured me that she was learning all about the “free money book” called Free Money “They” Don’t Want You to Know About by Kevin Trudeau. She said that Kevin Trudeau is a noted consumer advocate who’s been working to expose the corrupt practices of the lending industry, and that his mission in life is to help hardworking people like me overcome money woes and live out our dreams. Free money for nursing school? Count me in! I decided to check out this Free Money book and see what all the fuss was about.

Based on my friend’s Free Money review, I knew I would be in for an interesting read. She said that one of her favorite things about the book is that Kevin Trudeau takes complicated financial concepts and breaks them down so they’re easy to understand. He also offers really straightforward tips, which is great; I can’t stand it when authors write only in terms of abstract ideas and concepts. After I received my copy, I dove right in. What did I learn? Well, according to Kevin Trudeau, free money is available everywhere, to everyone. You just have to learn what it is, where to find it and how to ask for it! You can use free money for anything, not just education; you can pay off debts, take a vacation, put a down payment on a house…whatever you want to do, you can do it. Best of all, free money is just that – 100% free. Unlike loans, you’ll never have to pay this money back, and you won’t have to worry about rising interest rates or collateral!

Becoming a nurse was beginning to seem like something I would never be able to achieve. But after reading the Free Money book, I now know that I can find the free money for nursing school I need to secure my education and finally begin my career. I would recommend Free Money to anyone who needs extra cash for any reason – and particularly to fellow health care professionals who, like me, need a little help funding their dreams. Order your copy and you’ll see what I mean!
